Atlas Spinal Care

Over a year ago, I was referred to Atlas Spinal Care by my sister. She told me that her friend was being helped by Dr. Flory, and was getting promising results. I had previous lower back injury that occurred during my time of service in the military. Then, recently when I was working out, this injury reactivated itself causing horrible discomfort in my lower back to the extent I couldn't do my daily routines anymore. I went to Dr. Flory's office, thinking he was about to crack my back, when he told me of his alternate N.U.C.C.A. treatment which involves investigating the root cause of the problem which comes from the Atlas bone, and readjusting it. At first, I was skeptical, however once I began treatment, I began to notice the difference. Before at every third step, I would trip, but with Dr. Flory's treatment, not anymore. I'm able to stand taller, and for the first time I'm able to properly work out. My journey towards my recovery has been a long one, and Dr. Flory has been understanding, telling me to have patience since this type of injury takes its time to heal itself. Being a year since I began my treatment, I'm happy to report that my lower back pain that used to bother me, has disappeared. It's funny, but I have to say I miss the pain. In July I went to Atlas Spinal care (driving 64 miles one way) for pain in my knee. I was limping and the pain affected everything...my work, my peace, my whole self. After the initial evaluation and interview, I was happy that Dr. Flory thought I would be a candidate for N.U.C.C.A. and a time-limited care plan was drawn up. I learned so much about the working of the brain stem during the first few weeks of treatment. I have recently finished my initial plan of care and have no pain in my knee (and Dr. Flory has never touched my knee!!). The body is an amazing machine and responds when it is helped to function properly. I have graduated to the next level of the wellness/maintenance program. I had been suffering from dizzy spells, lightheadedness, back pain, and neck pain since 2005. I thought I would just have to learn to live with it, until July of 2010. I was in the middle of being in a wedding, when I had the most horrific migraine I'd ever had! After that, I was on the couch for two weeks, lost 20 lbs in about 5 weeks, looked horrible, felt like there was something seriously wrong with me, and didn't know what to do. I went to every doctor I could think of..general doctor, neurologist, ENT specialist, had an MRI done, etc., etc. I suffered from depression and anxiety because of this. When I walked in, I had to hold onto the wall just to walk straight. After my first adjustment, I realized how heavy my head had felt, because all of a sudden, it was light! Throughout my 7 months of care at ASC, I have begun to drive again, my dizzy spells have gone down tremendously, no more neck or back pain, and I sleep like a baby! I suffered from chronic persistent instability, imbalance, dysequilibrium, nystagmus, unsteadiness when I walk, and left ear pain, & neck pain. All from a car accident but I don't think the accident did it, I think it was the Stupid Chiropractor that i went to for treatment that caused all this trouble. I REGRET EVER SEEING A CHIROPRACTOR!!! I WISH I WOULD'VE NEVER WENT THERE! because not long after seeing the neck popping, cracking, twisting chiropractor did I experience these symptoms...i was fine until HE started his neck cracking on me! I suffered with all this from August 08 til about the time I went to Dr. Flory which was September 10'. I eventually saw ENT's, General M.D.'s, Neurologists, had CT scans, MRI's, X-rays, blood tests and thank God all these came out healthy. One day i had a thought vision from God, I saw a head tilted on its axis causing a pinching or obstruction in the upper neck area. So i did my research online looking for a solution and I found Dr. Flory. When I entered his beautiful, modern and clean clinic I noticed a poster with a skull tilted on its axis causing pinching obstruction of the brainstem resulting in several conditions and on the other side, a skull in alignment causing balance of the body. I knew this was the place God led me. I told Dr. Flory ""I want to run and jump on the huge rocks on the seashore again"", and after receiving numerous gentle adjustments from Dr. Flory, I am proud to say I have ran and jumped on the huge rocks along the beaches of Maui. Something I could've never dreamt of doing b4. Dr. Flory is someone you can cry to and ""spill your guts"" to and he will listen and understand and try to help you. Me and him even prayed together couple times for the Lords intervention in my healing process. He is gentle and kind and you dont even feel him aligning your atlas. I wasn't even sure he was even doing anything to me. But even though I am not 100% cured, I am definitely better in all avenues of my health and I praise God almighty for having Dr. Flory in my care. more

I have had migraine headaches (1 to 5 per month), neck and back problems for over 20 years and have tried numerous chiropractors, doctors, medications, natural healing remedies with no relief. With skiing accidents and a roll-over crash in my twenties, I lived a ""half-life"" for years. Meaning, in addition to extreme pain (shoulder blades, hip & neck, migraines, IBS, depression & fibromyalgia and extremely numb ""dead"" hands) my mental & emotional state was always in ""Fight or Flight or Fall-apart"" mode. An intimate friend described me as if ""someone pulled a plug out of my neck and all the happiness ran out"". Well, 25 years later, I find out he was so right. My atlas had interfered with the natural flow of the healing, calming, feel good brain juices which regulates everything. After years of physical therapists, acupuncturists, neurologist and normal, worthless (for me) chiropractics I found out what was allegedly wrong with me: 5/8 inch ""leg length discrepancy"" which caused my hip & rest of skeleton to be off the same amount, scoliosis and irreversible peripheral neuropathy, all of which I was told I had to live with (my cure was to wear a lift in my shoe.) FINALLY, while living in OR, someone referred me to a NUCCA-trained chiro. My first atlas adjustment released a flood of chemicals I had never experienced and I slept all day. Pain was decreased and mood improved. I would pop out and go back and basically maintained for the last couple of years, but still periodic pain, headaches and dead hands, all causing loss of sleep and So upset I had to move to CA and feared the worst. Now, Dr. Flory is the BEST thing about having moved (okay the weather is better but....). Before, the only ‘diagnostic tool’ after the one set of x-rays was my rating of my symptoms. First visit with Dr. Flory, he was able to tell me exactly the degree that my hips were “off”, to what degree my dysfunction was causing tension and pain in my muscles. After the 2nd visit, my 5/8” was down to 18” and my hips were LEVEL for the first time in years. I suspect as many years as I was “off”, it may take a few visits for the adjustments to stick; bottom line is after 3 visits, so far, no dead hands or migraines and nominal pain overall. Dr. Tym Flory and his staff at Atlas Spinal Care are awesome-- kind, helpful and accommodating. My entire family sees Dr. Flory and we've all been helped by NUCCA care through Dr. Tym. My husband's ongoing back pain has been significantly reduced. Our 6 year old daughter is in current treatment and is working towards being correctly aligned. I even had my infant evaluated (thank goodness, she's in alignment!!!). Dr. Tym and his staff are WONDERFUL with children! I have tried every medication (prescribed/herbal/holistic) for my chronic daily headaches and migraines. I have seen headache specialist, acupuncturist, chiropractors, etc. I had just about given up hope for my headaches and along came Dr. Flory and NUCCA!!!!! Praise the Lord! I found Atlas Spinal Care on the internet. I am skeptical of chiropracters. My luck with conventional medicine isn't getting me where i want to be. With NUCCA care I know I am in the proper alignment. I have experienced many other types of chiropractic adjustments, and they do not properly align me. I have far fewer symptoms with Atlas Spinal Care and Dr Flory is very specific on his adjustments. He is careful and caring to give the best atlas adjustment possible. I went to Nucca because of frequent headaches and sleep disturbance. After easy and very gentle manipulations the headaches seldom return and my visits to Atlas Spinal Care are required less and less.
