Dr. Dorlon is a caring doctor 2/1/2009

I have been a patient of Dr. Dorlon's (off & on) for at least 6 years. He is a knowable, perseptive and compassionate doctor that has worked with me to create tailored treatments specific to my various conditions. \r \r It is such a wonderful experience to go to a doctor that listens and actually cares-not only about specific symptoms, but about total quality of life. I also like that Dr. Dorlon will inform me of various treatment options as opposed to just writing a prescription and sending me out the door. \r \r His wait time has improved lately as he has been in another office temporarily (emergency evening clinic). In Oct, Nov and Dec 2008 I was out of his office BY 5 pm and my appointments were around 2:30 - and they were all visits with the doctor (not prescription pickup). \r \r I do recommend Dr. Dorlon to those in Spartanburg needing a Rheumatologist. However, be prepared for a long wait (bring a book) and realize that sometimes good things come to those that wait. Pros: Dr. Dorlon is compassionate and will work hard to find treatment that works best for you Cons: The wait time and some labs expensive if insurance doesn't pay much more

Great Doctor -But Wife is Office Manager 6/4/2008

Dr. Dorlon is wonderful. I could not sing enough praises about him. The office staff in the reception area are also nice but his wife is the office manager and she likes to schedule him so you wait, wait, wait.\r I went by yesterday to pick up a presciption and wait then the girl told me at the desk I owed a $50 co-pay that I hadn't paid the first visit. I used my debit card and paid it. Sat back down and waited. She then called me up to say that I couldn't get my prescription because I would have to be seen by the doctor and my appt.l wasn't until the end of the month. She wasn't happy that I was being treated this way either and told me if was the office manager who had told her this. She ask if I was out of my pills and did I want to stay and get worked in. Well, it was 2:00 then and we all know it would have been at least 8:00 before I got out of there and I had plans. I told her I couldn't stay. I went to my car and got to thinking about my insurance. I got my card out of my purse and looked at it and I had NO CO Pay. I went back inside and told her and she \r said she didn't know where the $50 co pay came from or why I was charged that the visit before. She said it had to have come from Elaine, yep, you guessed it-the Dr.'s wife -the Office Manager. She is evidently money hungry!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Dr. Dorlon is wonderful! He listens and tries to prescribe what he thinks will really help Cons: His Wife Elaine the Office Manager is Money Hungry -8-10 hour wait time-RIDICULOUS!!! more

Good Doctor, Terrible Service 11/8/2007

Dr. Dorlon is a good Rheumatologist, but his office staff is the worst I've ever dealt with. They act as if the patients are a burden to them and are only as helpful as the patient is persistent. I've been going to Dr. Dorlon for over 4 years now for Fibromyalgia. I have never been to his office that I didn't wait 3 to 5 hours. I really feel sorry for the folks who come to pick up a priscription refill form or just to get a shot. They have to wait almost as long as the patients waiting to see the Doctor. I've mentioned my concerns to Dr. Dorlon about his staff and offered up suggestions, but with NO Results. I'm tired of trying and now am moving on to another Rheumatologist. If you decide to go see Dr. Dorlon, in spite of my warnings, then I wish you the best! Pros: Great Doctor Cons: Sorry Staff and rediculous wait time... more

This is the best Rheumatologist in S.C.!! 11/29/2005

Dr. Dorlon will spend as much time as you need to answer your questions, discuss all of your needs and is very compassionate and understanding. He never belittles, nor rushes you or dismisses any symptoms you may be experiencing. Though you will have to wait in his waiting room sometimes for hours, he is well worth the wait. I drive 2 hours to see him! I always bring my cell phone and plenty of reading material. I can usually leave my cell # with the staff if needed and go get something to eat and they will call me when I am next to be treated. I highly recommend Dr. Dorlon if you are unhappy with the service and medical treatment you are currently receiving. Pros: Compassionate, Professional Cons: Long waits, that's al more
