Editorial review from Citysearch 12/17/2012

On July 17,2012 we suffered major damage to our roof, gutters and front storm door from a bad storm. One of Armor's sales reps stopped by after the storm and ask to look at damage and stated the damage would be covered by insurance. we at that time set up appt for insurance adjustor to come out and assess damage, Armors rep was present at same time. Insurance Company agreed that all damage was covered under our policy. The Rep also advised that for every referral we gave them that they got a contract on we would receive a 250.00 referral fee. well Armor did get out pretty quick and put a new roof on in 1 day. we waited almost 9 weeks for the gutters, after the gutters were finally replaced, we had to have the rep come back out and inspect them because they were not placed on properly. The rep did have the gutter supervisor and crew come back a few days later and fix them correctly. \r now for my front storm door. They sales Rep sent a subcontractor out to get measurements, at this time we were told the storm door not only had to be replaced so did our entire front door assembly which included 2 windows on each side of our big front door, that this would have to be built to specs. weeks went by and we were told the door was being built, again we were told by Armors representative and contractor the entirety of door would be replaced just like the old one, we ask if they were going to paint the frame and door also and they said absolutely, it will be just like the one we replace. \r during the course of all this my elderly neighbor had storm damage to her home, she too waited for 6 months after being lied to over and over. after extensive resaearch and aggravation my neighbors grand daughter decided to investigate the company as well as the contractor who might I add just so happen to be on probation of a convicted felony, supposedly for scammimg. Now why would a supposed prominent business contract felons?\r we were finally sent another contractor to do the door replacement. This young man found our door unit had not even been ordered to be built after we were told the company tried to deliver to our house. so we waited another 2 weeks for the door unit to be built. The door finally was replaced with the new storm door ALSO but guess what Armor didnt repaint the frame and front door, they stated it wasnt in the contract price, Now need I say how angry I became after numerous calls to Armor and speaking to several so called managers, I was told the door would be replaced then 30 mins later I was called by one of the other mgrs who also stated he was one of the owners and owned a percentage of the company. he advised they would paint the door but I needed to go out and get color sample myself and instructed me to go to Lowes. He said it wasnt in the contract to paint they were only to install. Now tell me why would insurance companies pay to have something repaired and it not be put back the way it was. I have never had so many problems and been lied to in all my life. I was also told they dont do referral fees. LOL, now who would have thought they really do after all the lies told from day one. almost 6 months later we are still with incomplete work, we are going to pay someone to paint and rest assured the insurance company had been made aware of broken promises and incomplete work as well as I now have started a complete investigation on this company. I will say this if anyone should approach you affiliated with Armor Roofing, please be aware...FRAUD, LIES and Cheating is their agenda.\r let alone they the so called percentage of the company owner is rude and pathetic. more

Armor Roofing of TN, LLC was contracted to replace our hail-damaged roof. Armor replaced the entire roof except for one rubber flat portion that the Armor employee said was in good shape and should last 20 more years if we didn't suffer any storm damage. About a month after the work was completed, we had heavy rain and our roof leaked. The company came out to inspect, and we were told the leak was from the only part of the roof they didn't replace, but that they'd try to caulk it. After multiple attempts to have someone caulk, someone returned only when I informed them that I had the final insurance check. Unfortunately, he did not bring his materials to caulk that day, but he took my money. After many days of promising to return then not showing up, we got anxious and called the main office every day until someone returned and caulked the area, but the leaks never stopped.\r \r We finally decided to get an estimate from Armor to replace the leaking rubber portion of our roof. Another Armor employee inspected the roof and provided an estimate. My wife signed the contract and paid half as a down payment to Armor. The estimated start date was 10/2/12.\r \r On 10/2/12, we arrived home to find that the work had not commenced. We received no calls to let us know there was a problem. Finally, a supervisor informed me that the contract was determined to be underbid, and Armor wouldn't make enough profit to perform the contract. I asked why we weren't informed of this problem. He again said he would need more money. I asked him if it was Armor's practice not to honor their contracts, and he told me that in this case, yes. He said I needed to pay $800 over the contract price for Armor to perform. I scoffed and said, ""Why would I trust your company with any work? I'd rather go to a competitor."" Then he interrupted and yelled to me in a threatening tone saying, ""Buddy . . . You have no idea who you're speaking to. You don't know who you're talking to."" Then he hung up the phone. \r I called again and spoke to the office manager. I explained that I had been had hung up on and had been provided terrible customer service. She said that the bid was determined by management to be insufficient and that Armor wouldn't honor the contract. She referenced fine print on the back of the contract. I told her that we should have been notified in advance and that my check should have been returned if there was a problem. I asked if Armor lets its employees give bogus bids and never contact its customers. I explained that this practice was dishonest and predatory, and she replied ""I'm sorry."" I asked if they would have kept my money indefinitely if we hadn't called; she said no, but didn't offer any reason as to why our check hadn't been returned. I told her that I felt the need to alert the public, and she said that they would gladly go to the BBB arbitration. \r \r Complaints: I was encouraged by an Armor employee not to replace the rubber part of my roof. Ironically, the leaks started after the first heavy rain only a few weeks after my roof was replaced by Armor. The company was late or non-responsive when it came to following up to perform scheduled repair work (caulking leaks). Armor broke its ""contract"" by not performing the replacement of the rubber portion or our roof as promised. Armor never informed us that this work was not going to be performed. Armor demanded an additional $800 in order to begin the work originally contracted.. Armor kept our deposit even after they internally determined not to perform the work. The company manager hung up on me and threatened me when I objected to paying Armor an additional $800.\r \r If anyone decides to use this company, the price may mysteriously increase. Expect Armor not to follow up or communicate with you. If you get any leaks, the company will not show up to fix them as scheduled. Expect to be treated disrespectfully and be given poor customer service.\r more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! STORM CHASERS MAKES THREATS 1/12/2012

This company is Horrible. After they randomly knocked on our door telling me they wanted to take a look at my roof to see if the hail storm had damaged it, they wanted me to call my insurance company to get an adjuster out to look at the roof. So i did, and proceeding through to the sales meeting about having them do the work on our home they could not answer many of the most general questions and could not meet out expectations, we needed more time to consider what we wanted and told them we needed a few days to consider colors, upgrades, ect. Many times over the sales person just showed up, made threatening calls saying i was avoiding him and on and on. The story is long but finally i was fed up with these people and told them that we were not going to have them do work on our home. That conversation was filled with threats of huge charges ( even though no work, not even materials were ordered) and collection calls, and lawyers called ect ect. I contacted the Office in order to let them know how their employees were behaving and what I had experienced, the woman told me she had to look into the ""other side of the Story"" and she would call me back. A few days later i spoke with her and she informed me that since my insurance company wrote a check out to them ( which they did not and I told her this with out first conversation) and they got our insurance company to pay, that they were going to invoice me for almost $3000!!!! What bad business!!! Their employees are threatning, annoying because they come over all times of day and night whenever they please with no appointment, they sales guy cannot even state if the roof will be nailed with four or six nails, they didn't get my insurance company to pay, I DID, because I CALLED THEM, I MADE APPOINTMENTS TO have the adjuster to come out, and the check was wrote out to MY mortgage company, not them, and the piece of paper i signed for a proposal had expired many moons ago, I didn't give them a deposit, I never ordered a roof or any other item, never even started a work order of any kind, and they think I owe them almost 3 grand because some unintelligent punk kid come out and annoyed us so badly over the course of a week and a half bugging us and threatening us to to point that we don't want to use their services anymore and we owe them!!!! I don't think so!! If anything they should owe us for having to deal with an incompetent punk kid. ALSO my insurance adjuster told me that an elderly lady had to call the sheriff on this same sales person because he just wouldn't leave her alone either. OH YEAH AND LAST THING, one of our neighbors actually went through with having them do their roof, but it wasent armor who actually put the roof on, IT WAS SOME OTHER ROOFING COMPANY, A CREW OF NON ENGLISH SPEAKING MEN. okay so just because they dont speak english isnt so bad but the homeowner asked them repeatedly for something and they could not understand so his rquest was basically denied and never got taken care of. YEAH ARMOR ROOFING HUH? This is A BAD BAD BAD BUSINESS!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!! BAD BAD BAD!!!"" more
