This place is great. Never a bad experience. Most of the employees are very knowledgeable and they are all very helpful. Affordable there too. They give me a lot of tips and advice instead of taking my money. I've been there shopping for most of my equipment and all of my fish and corals . Unlike other places they do care for their livestock in the store and I definitely respect their straight-forward and honesty to customers when it comes to caring for my fish. more

This place should be avoided at all costs. My wife bought me a new tank for Christmas. She was confident in Aquatic Technology and its owner and over the last two months spent over $1000 with him for fish, live rocks, and a host of creatures. \r \r Big problem--he and his firm do not stand at all behind their sales. We staged the tank to incrementally add rock, critters, and the like per the owners directions. We bought test kits, sampled the water et al.\r \r Finally it came time to introduce $450 worth of fish into the tank--everything else up to that point died. After much bullcrap, the owner couldn't back peddle anymore and just said to my wife, ""things die"". \r \r The entire reef we bought ($900 worth) died with the introduction of the fish they recommended. All levels were good yet ""things die""--not sure I have ever heard of everything dying at once though.\r \r Bottom line, they stood behind nothing. They offered nothing in exchange after less than a week of everything immediately dying, and they indicated we should buy more? Wow, what a set of crap.\r \r Avoid this place, Avoid this Owner, save your money and go someplace with quality, honesty and who stands behind their sales. more

I definitely agree with the reviews about the horrible customer service at this place. I used to shop there for a couple of little things here and there that wouldn't make sense buying online such as 5-10 dollar frags. more

Contacted BBB about this store. I think it is a shame that they treat people the way they do. It's as if they pick and choose who to 'waste' time on. Then, when you go to that store, ONLY, you do not beifit from it either. I have been going there since May 1st, and used them to get our 125G up and running. New pumps, thermostat, salt, live sand and rock, and our fish. It is a shame that we have purchashed 14 fish from that store, 10 on July 6 and 5 on Aug. 3. Out of all 15 fish (which are all VERY small at time of purchase), 1 fish from July (a little Damsel), and more recently, 1 fish from Aug. 3 died. I called him about the 1 from the Aug purchase, and he just didn't want to waste time w/me on the phone. It's sad, we have 3 other tanks yet, to get up and running, and he is going to lose us over a Diamond Goby, and $26.99, so what, a $10 profit, or more, but close, and he is going to not want to continue w/the profits from us, and we are just one customer. He will continue to lose people, and soon enough, will have no one. Sad sad sad. I really hope that the BBB can fix this, I kinda like that place! more

I have shopped at Aquatic Technology for many years and will continue to shop there. They have more to choose from than any other salt water store period. They will hold a fish for a week or less for free. When they aren't slammed they have time to help and offer excellent advice. They have never steered me wrong. The livestock I have purchased from them lives. more

I purchased 3 fish from the store and one died in less then 24 hours, the other 2 are still living. All fish stores I have ever been to have some sort of fish exchange policy in place for the death of a fish with in a certain time. I have been in the trade for 15+ years and this is the first I have ever heard about this. Do not waste your time with this store, I have put up with the horrible customer service and dealing with the very opinionated owner just on the sole fact that he had healthy quality fish but after having this happen there is no way I will ever go back to that store it is a complete waste of time. lastly the good reviews you read are from his friends so don't even waste your time reading those ones, I over heard him joking about how he has had his friend do this. I do not know how this place is still in business, Don't waste your time find some place your way better off trust me! more

As aquarium stores go this place is number one. I came to this place not knowing a thing about marine fish or how to take care of them. The owner not only explained everything I needed to know but kept me from \r buying useless items and gave me a package discount as well. A lot of small businesses have been hit hard over the last 10 years, especially recently. I would hate to see anything happen to this business. Ask him anything, he'll answer it with honesty. How many times have you gone to petco or some other aquarium and got the run around or not getting the truth about fish equipment, etc. I mean sure sometimes you're looking for a certain item. But they have a huge variety of fish and corals and they look really healthy as well. The knowledge that I received from them paid for all my equipment and then some. Truthfully, go out of your way and go to this place, the price is right, \r the fish and corals are beautiful and you feel like it's your best friend working the fish store, who takes the time to explain things to you. This is where a piece of ""real"" America lies. Hands down the best aquarium experience I've ever had! A must visit!\r more

They have an excellent selection for the person looking for salt water fish and/or corals. I have spent thousands of dollars over the last few years on my set up and Aquatic Technology shares only a very small percentage of my spendings due to their poor customer service. This is based on multiple visit experiences. I was only 1 of 2 customers one evening in the store and i was waiting for someone to help me, i had finally decided to go ""reef"" and had calculated out that i needed about $1000.00 in live rock for my tank, employees ran around cleaning instead of helping so i walked out after about 45 min wait. Too bad for Aquatic Tech, i left their store went right home and ordered it online through another source and had it flown in from Los Angeles. If you are lucky enough to catch their attention, like the other review stated, they will assist you with the enthusiasm of a person eating their dinner who you just interupted. Definitely a business that could thrive if they would straighten up the eye sores and send their employees to a weekend course to learn/improve people skills. This being said as constructive criticizm. You will definitely enjoy the wide selection they have to offer, hours of operation are very accomodating also. more

I usually shop at stores on the East side of Cleveland. I just heard about Aquatic Technology the other day and stopped by today. They had fish in stock that I had been trying to get my LPS to order inf for weeks and they had lots of them. They have several very large fiberglass bins out front. Only one had any corals in it. It held more corals than I see at my local stores in a year, plus they had hundreds of tanks inside full of corals and fish. Pros: I have never seen anything like it Cons: Wish I lived closer more

Overpriced!!! Anyone who says it's not has never shopped anywhere else!!! I normally dont shop their because of the horrible service and staff that acts like your bothering them or your stupid for asking them a question about something, and the prices are completely outrageous. I called them up today because I'm really looking around at all the pet shops for a clown triggerfish, they had one in stock almost 5 inches long, they were asking $160 for it!!! I asked why and he tried telling me it was a very reasonable price.. I told him he was out of his mind! Pros: Selection Cons: the place is a dump! Bad service, even worse prices more

Though their selection in marine livestock is not bad, their service is terrible. I have had 3 encounters with this store and all three were unpleasant. They neglect customers and cheat unknowledgeable aquarists. It took me 30 minutes to finally get service there, and when I got it, the owner asked me what do I want from him. After I asked for the items, he tried charging me $300 for a tiny rose anemone, which was not looking good either. I passed on the offer and left the first time. Second encounter was also unpleasant. I got overcharged for Aqua Medic Calcium reactor media almost double the price of other fish stores that I didn't want to drive to. Third time, however, was when I realized a few things about the owner. He is a greedy little money sucking machine. I brought in my Precision Marine Bullet 3 skimmer in great shape saying that it doesn't fit underneath my cabinet. I asked for a trade-equivalent. He was walking around long time looking for something to give me and finally found an old Red Sea Berlin Classic skimmer and then, using deceitful sales technique made me trade my skimmer for his. Bullet 3 costs over $500 new, where Berlin costs $170 new. I tried asking for a new one in exchange, he kept on going that it would be an unfair trade. That was the last time I went to that store. I will NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE VISITING THAT PLACE, shop elsewhere, don't lose your money. more

I came form NY where I have some realy nice aquarium stores. I believe the analogy ""kid in a candy store"" applies here. All I can say is wow and double wow. Great selection and prices on fish, corals and supplies. The people working there knew what they were talking about and were very friendly. The selection was the best I have ever seen anywhere and I have been to all the stores within a reasonable driving distance. They had more healthy fish and corals than I have ever seen anywhere around here. They were busy the times I have gone so I had to wait sometimes to be helped but it was worth it. As with all stores some employees were more knowledgable than others. I have been there a few times. The owner stays up front and doesnt hide in a back office. I asked one of the employees if I could talk to him. He quit doing the paperwork he was working on and helped me with my questions. I will be going back. Pros: great selection, prices and quality merchandise and livestock Cons: I can't realy think of any more

although the selection might seem enticing the SERVICE is horrible..no one was willing to give their time OR information. Walked out of their after 20 minutes of NO help when even with the slightest of information I was ready to purchase over $500 worth of merchandise.
