The service was sporadic and on one occasion rude and terse. Only the house salad and fried green beans deserved mention. Although the dressing on the salad erred on the sweet sid...

Scrumpteous Repast 3/20/2009

What a wonderful repast at Aqua Blue ? we belatedly (due to my health challenges) celebrated our Anniversary there last evening, and couldn?t have been more pleased with the delicious food, and the terrific service! Pros: Great Chef, Teriffic Service, Incredible Cuisine Cons: a bit nosy on Thurs - singles night more

Nice atmosphere 3/7/2009

Great sushi. Grilled chicken sandwich very tasty. Atmosphere very nice. Outdoor patio excellent. Pros: local artist paintings on wall Cons: fried lobster not good at all more

great sushi and apps 1/29/2009

My husband and I were visiting from Savannah a few weeks ago and came here with friends. It was really great. We were seated right away and had a wonderfully cozy and intimate seating area. No yelling across the table required. The food was awesome; never before had I seen or imagined fried green beans but they were wonderful and the highlight was the sushi. Beautifully prepared and gobbled up quickly. The service was also very good, never waiting or looking for help but also not hovering or interrupting. I am sure we will be returning here on our next visit to the ATL. more

Best Sushi in Atlanta with Fun Atmosphere 1/25/2009

We recently had friends in town and were looking for the perfect spot that has everything- great sushi, entertainment, drinks and something for my ""allergic to seafood' friend. We found the PERFECT PLACE- Aqua Blue in Roswell (off Holcomb Bridge/GA 400). From the outside it looked crowded, but as soon as we walked in- we were seated right away (we did make reservations). The service was incredible from start to finish. Adam was our server- he was always there when we needed him and was very knowledgable about the specials and how each menu item was prepared. We started with an appetizer trio that is very unique -& so incredible (calamari, a barbeque that is to die for and fried green beans with a special dipping sauce). Our friends raved about all three items. The mixed drinks and our bottle of wine was fantastic, but the main courses were the highlight. Between the four of us, we had the gorgonzola filet, the sea bass (which I highly recommend) and 2 orders of the BEST SUSHI you can get in Atlanta. Each of the managers came to our table to make sure everything was perfect. We will definately be back. The atmosphere is great for couples, friends, office parties, and even families (we took our kids there as well and they loved it). If you want to impress friends from out of town, this was the place to go. Pros: Sushi, Every Food on the Menu, Ambience and Service more

Mmmmmmm....Martini!!! 11/9/2007

After paying too much to dine at one of the lackluster restaurants in ""Old Roswell"", my girlfriend and I stopped by Aqua Blue for a casual drink and conversation in what I consider to be the most ""downtown chic"" environment, rising head and shoulders above the strip mall mentality that prevails Outside The Perimeter. Our bartender was very attentive and made us two of the most perfect Extra Dirty Martinis I've ever had. Not only were they delicious but they came in a martini glass that could have doubled as a fish bowl! We drank one each and were feeling absolutely no pain. My girlfriend begged, in a vodka induced slur, that she absolutely had to have another. I counceled against it but calmer, I should say sober, heads did not prevail. We had a great time. Great service and felt like we'd been downtown even though we never left the ""burbs"". Our hangovers the next day are the stuff of legend and I haven't seen my girl touch vodka since, but I applaud Aqua Blue for a job very well done! They also have awesome sushi!!! Pros: beautiful and chic in a way that defies suburban eateries!!! Cons: thursday nights are crowded with wealthy ancients fishing for silicone enhanced princesses more

Great customer service 12/18/2006

My wife and I have been to Aqua Blue a couple times now and we love it. The food is excellent, fresh sushi, good wine list, and great service. I highly recommend it for a nice dinner at reasonable prices. more

Fun little spot in Roswell!! 10/19/2006

I went to Aqua Blue for the first time recently on a Thursday night. A great place! This restaurant/bar has live music where everyone gets down on the dance floor. It generally caters to older crowds (40 and up), and is also a great place for people watching (nothing is funnier than an eighty year old man trying to boogy with someone half his age). Our group was an age range of 25 to 30-something. Needless to say we got free rounds of drinks from the guys there. Great food, and good drinks at a reasonable price (they have an awesome wine menu). Service was fast and good too! Pros: People watching, food, atmosphere Cons: Dance "area" view is limited more

Business delight 5/24/2006

After a tough day on a client visit, 3 co workers and myself came here for dinner. It was quiet yet upbeat, and had something to offer everyone's palate. The sushi was fresh, light on the tongue, and stayed intact. Fish were grilled to perfection, and the tenderloin was like butter. Pros: prompt service, moderate price, trendy more

If you haven't tried it you're missing out! 4/28/2006

My husband and I have eaten at Aqua blue at least a dozen times over the past 8 or 9 months, sometimes with our children and sometimes with family members or business associates. We have never been disappointed! The food is stupendous. The service is very efficient and even on busy nights we have rarely had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. We have never taken anyone there that didn't love it. We strongly recommend this restaurant! Be sure to try to calamari! Pros: Excellent food, Great service, Friendly staff Cons: Can be a bit noisy, A little expensive more

Disgusted 2/22/2006

Our reservation was for 7:45 pm; however, running late we called. They then moved our reservation back to 8 pm. At 8:15 pm we were still waiting. The first time I asked when we would be seated, I was waved off by an employee working in the front. Nodding his head arrogantly toward the bar he dismissively said, Go grab a drink. At 8:25, I approached this person one more time. Yet again, he told me to go have a drink at the bar. I told him I was not interested in doing that. He then rudely muttered something about my being late and that I had some nerve to be complaining. From there the conversation devolved into a heated, intense exchange whereby this person actually got in my face and invaded my personal space. Naturally, we left NEVER to return and will discourage anyone else from ever eating there. Cons: Rude Service, Inefficient, Pretentious more

""Corporate"" Dinner 1/26/2006

Working in Alpharetta there are many establishments that cater to large groups for company functions. I find that many are chains and lack any real character; I found this to be untrue of Aqua Blue. The staff had personality, the menu was, although what you'd expect, seasoned with a few nice surprises. The sushi, being a huge sushi fanatic, was delicious and fresh. They were able to provide excellent service to our group of about 20 (sometime picky - myself included) people. I am sure no one went without a drink or food for a minute. Excellent! Pros: Service, Food more

Nice sushi and atmosphere, but... 1/12/2005

We were greeted very warmly by the host, but had super spotty service after that. The sushi was overall delicious, we enjoyed a rainbow roll, but the shrimp tempura roll was a bit soggy, probably due to it sitting around before the waitress got around to bringing it to us. My husband ordered the special risotto and could not finish it. It was greasy, clumpy and overly salted. My recommendation, sit at the sushi bar and enjoy what they do best, thus avoiding slow service and bad entrees. Pros: nice host, great rainbow roll more

Always Amazed 7/16/2004

We have been Frequenting Aqua Blue for 2 years now and love the friendly atmosphere where we are treated like family. Whether we are at the bar or in the dining room it is amazing how well all the staff know their food and wine. The calamari is to die for and the sushi is superb. You can go in and always be greeted by the same staff members who remember your favorites you enjoyed times before. It is a beautiful atmosphere to go and feel like you are at home. Pros: Food, Service, friendly more

Not Good 2/8/2004

Food was horrible and overpriced, I had the Halibut and it smelled so bad I couldn't even eat it. Also Very Noisey and had to wait quite a while before being seated. more

Great Place! 3/10/2003

A big group (16) of us headed out to the 'burbs' when the NBA experience was in town- in order to avoid a long wait. What a nice surprise this place turned out to be! Cool vibe, great drinks, good food. Our waitress did not know the menu that well- but the wait staff as a team took great care of us. This place is a don't miss if you are in the neighborhhod. Pros: Hip, Fairly priced more

Great Restaurant!! 3/10/2003

This restaurant is great. The food was extremely good. If it's Friday, please order the New England Clam Bake. It's too delicious!!! Our waiter was pleasant and we really enjoyed ourselves. more

Great Birthday Party!!! 2/8/2003

It was our first time dining there. I have to say, it was a very very nice. Aside from the noise (expect it at a Restaurant/bar especially on the weekend) it was a very nice dining experience. Our waiter, Travis was great!! Attentive enough to keep fresh drinks on the table but not harassing. The calamari was excellent, as were the entrees. They were very accomodating as we brought in an outside dessert for our friends birthday...they kept it cold and even brought it out with the candles on it. Excellent service and the food...amazing!!!! The atmosphere was a change too...not your Chili's or Friday's crowd...or maybe they were, just grown up. Pros: Travis, Food, other service people Cons: noise level more
