A Family Place 3/5/2012

I would like to thank Paulette and Tammy for a job exceptionally done. I had a special evening out planned with my husband. We had two places to go and alot of people to share the evening with and the highlight of the night seemed to be focused on me due to my New hair cut and a manicure that was the talk of the night. Thank You ladies for making my special evening more special than I could of hoped for. This place is amazing. See you all soon! more

They are so proffessional, outgoing, and funny 3/2/2009

Thank Godness I didnt listen to the other review. I always read reviews before trying a new salon. This praticular Salon seem to catch my eye. The reviews that they receive are sometimes perfect but sometimes childish and u can tell by the way it was written (Dude, Yo, ect.) I just had to check it out for myself. So I went, I had the owner do my nails. Wow was she one of the nicest, funniest, people I have ever met. The review before this is pretty comical ive seen this same one on tones of other sites. For the 1 visit she had, behind closed doors she new it was the owner gonna beat up someone. Well ofcourse who couldnt just now everyone in the spa behind closed doors DUDE. Now I will admit if someone was messin with my little girl Im sure id talk some crap. I have bein going there for 3 yrs now one of the best features of her New Day Spa on Falls Tullytown Rd. is beautiful, homely, elegant, opened, it is. They never shut down (thank god) they moved. Good thing those pedicures aren't there anymore. Ill agree with the last review they needed more practice, but gettn a pedicure out in the open like those other places is pretty embarassing thats why i never had one until now. Nothin like sittin out in the open while there filing your feet, while the tech is looking at the person like this sucks! Not at A Touch of Destiny I have never bein more comfortable gettn a pedicure behind closed doors on a personal basis with a tech that nows what their doing and I can talk to. They are always looking for new ideas from customers, anything. I dont now what I would have done w/o them. Me and my nail tech are close, she nows my life story, and between me and her laughing, crying, she has become my freind, my shrink, and my nails have never looked better her nail art is perfect, no electric drills, no cancer in the acylic, no strong fumes. I could compliment this business all day but if you don't go for yourself you will never no! more

Disappointed in much touted nail salon 7/22/2005

On a recent visit to A Touch of Destiny I have to say I was disappointed by several things. First off the place is mighty cramped, especially the waiting area. They really do try to cram alot in a small space. They have tanning booths and a waiting area with tables and chairs and a behemoth of a giant soda vending machine all crammed around the checkout counter, which itself is crammed full of product. But OK, whatever, they're ambitious. I had a pedicure and while I haven't had many in my life, I've had a few, but A Touch of Destiny handles the whole setup of a pedicure differently. They enclose you in your pedicure chair in another tiny space! Aaaagh! Seriously, in the same room where they have manicure stations set up they have giant mirrored doors which slide open to reveal the pedicure/footspa chairs, like in a closet, they when you're in there they slide them closed again! Perhaps they are trying to create a relaxing atmosphere or something but dude, I don't need THAT much privacy for a pedicure! It's not like it's a bikini wax! I'd much rather have been in the same room where all the other nail action was happening. In any case it was weird, then to add insult to injury my pedicure technician clipped my big toenail too close and it was sore and tender for like a week. Oh, while in my little closet I did manage to hear the voice of the owner talking about highly personal matters and threatening to beat the crap out of someone who pissed her off by questioning her salon and her care of her daughter, Destiny. Nice, huh? So it was my first and probably last visit and now I guess I know why they don't call it a 'Touch of Class" salon. 3/20/2006 Heard this place has now been CLOSED. more
