An excellent time! 1/4/2012

I had a great time from start to finish! I arrived about 25 minutes before the start of the movie (The Sitter, which was hilarious) and headed to the bar. The bartender was very friendly and gave great service. I had a beer and even got a margarita to take with me into the theater! Unbelievably, the drinks were very reasonably priced for any bar, much less AT the theater. Honestly, I can't think of anything to complain about. I plan on returning every Tuesday. more

horrible 8/29/2010

this theater might have been good a couple of years ago, but now it's 2010 and it needs new equipment very bad. the screens are too small, the sound isn't loud enough and the seat arrangement is lousy. even the IMAX theater still runs on an old film based projector, which can ruin the whole movie. When I watched Inception there was dust on the lens or the film which produced a huge artifact on the screen. I know Rave Motion Pictures just recently acquired this venue, but they need to invest money now in new digital projectors, bigger screens and new sound systems. And one more thing: $5 for a half liter water bottle? seriously? more

What Should Be Done! 6/20/2010

I love going to Birmingham, Alabama's the Rave theater. They now have police officers and signs posted that teenagers are not allowed to hang around. It was driving alot of their businiess away. Now that this rule is set, their business has picked up ten fold. Thank you Rave!! Pros: Nice and Big! Cons: Too many teenagers! more

Where is the customer service? 3/4/2010

I recently purchasedr 10 tickets online for the Sunday March 7th showing of Alice In Wonderland in the IMAX 3D theater. My grand total was $120.00. I am fine with the price of the tickets and, after all, this particular theater is reserved seating. The issue I ran into was the website I ordered the tickets (the only one you can order them online) and Stonybrook's lack of customer service. I had to go through the order process 4-5 times because I kept getting errors. On the last try I was pretty fed up and just wanted to get my tickets purchased so I was rushing through. At the very end I did not double check the date it had selected and ended up purchasing 10 tickets for the March 5th showing instead. This was my fault. I called the website's customer service to get the dates fixed and they told me ""sorry we can do anything for you. You will have to go to the theater and exchange the tickets there."" I am at work in downtown Louisville. How am I going to explain to my boss I have to go all the to the theater before the show time (1:30 p.m.) to exchange movie tickets. Not that he wouldn't understand but it is just ridiculous. I have been trying to contact the theater for an hour and I can not contact a live person nor can I find a number specifically for customer service. If I purchase an item online from a local vendor, It is because I did not have time to come to their location. This lack of customer service completely defeats that purpose and renders it a useless service. Love the theater but I doubt my family will be spending as much time there without an effective way to order tickets online. I'm sure from here on out I will be to paranoid of making a mistake and no customer service to help put it right. UPDATE: Just talked to the theater. Yeah, I have to come all the way out there and exchange the tickets or I won't have any seats reserved for Sunday and keep in mind that the IMAX 3D theater has only reserved. They were no help. Pros: Nice theater Cons: Bad customer service more

DDR, and the best snack bar in town 8/15/2006

I saw Superman Returns here on the 3D IMAX and while the movie wasn't so hot, the huge theatre, stadium seats and nice service made the experience a lot more enjoyable. Pros: Nice theatre and conssessions Cons: Always packed with mallrat looking kids, but I'm probably one of those kids. more

musty outdated theater 7/4/2006

I saw Superman returns here. While I liked the film, it was ruined by a terrible theater. The screen was so small I couldn't believe it. The sound was muffled, you couldn't hear the film over the film projector, and the lights didn't go all the way down, I had a little spotlight from the ceiling shining in my eyes the whole time. the seats were stiff and uncomfortable. I do not recommend this theater at all. Oh yeah there is no ATM in the lobby either. Pros: if you aren't picky about sounds and picture quality Cons: small screens, bad sound, dirty carpet more

Decent theater, bad teenagers 6/30/2004

Don't go to this theater if you do not like lots of teenage hood rats hanging out everywhere on the weekends. You don't have to buy your ticket until you are inside the theater so there is a ton of young teens just hanging out. Good luck even making it to the ticket counter without having to evil eye some hood rat to step out of the way. You are better off going to Tinsletown with the better crowd and better theater, period. Pros: movie selection Cons: , non paying customers, Teen hangout more

One of the finest in Louisville 7/23/2002

While Stonybrook is a multiplex, that doesn't prevent it from being one of the finest movie complexes in Louisville. No matter what one is seeing -- an epic hit like ""Titanic"" or ""Gladiator,"" or a more intimate feeling movie such as ""A Beautiful Mind,"" Stonybrook features theaters that will fit any film. They have at least 2 of the largest screens in town; the sound system is first rate; the stadium seating and comfortable seats make movie going an enjoyable experience. One can purchase tickets in advance; they even do a special Gold VIP service. They have a variety of concessions from standard popcorn to chicken wings and pizzas. Ladies' restroom needs work -- I've tried to avoid it as often as possible even when desperate. Still my favorite cinema in town. Pros: Screen quality, Seat quality, Sound system Cons: Women's restroom, Concession prices more
