SO MUCH TO SAY, SO LITTLE SPACE. My first (and LAST) experience at this salon was abysmal. I pass this salon on my way to work everyday. I noticed the sign that read ?Relaxers $40? one day, and decided to give it a try on my way home from work. I called in advance yesterday to make an appointment for later in the afternoon. I spoke with Melinda and informed her that I would be there around 3:30. I asked about the $40 relaxer price I saw on the sign and she said, ?no relaxers start at $45.? After we hung up, she called back and said ?Ask for Melinda when you get here.? Assuming that I read the sign wrong, I went ahead on and figured I would check again when I got there. Once I got there, Melinda relaxed my hair and sent me to the hair dryer, where there was a massive leak flowing from the wall past the electric outlet, over the cords, and out onto the salon floor. When I asked to move to another seat, Melinda looked at me with surprise, as if I should be ok with being electrocuted. Once I was dry, she wrapped my hair and asked if I wanted to go back under the dryer. Confused by the question, I asked if I needed to. She said that I should only go back under the dryer if I wanted a style. She then added, ?if you?re just going home, I?ll leave it wrapped.? At that point I was so frustrated that I just said fine. Melinda then left my hair wrapped and then I had to ask to have it pinned so it wouldn?t fall (how sad is that?). After she gave me 2 hairpins, she just gave me her card and sat down in the chair. I asked where I needed to pay and she responded by saying I had to pay her. So I then asked where I needed to swipe my card. She laughed and said that they did not accept credit cards?only cash (in 2008, are you kidding me?). So, asked for the closest ATM. She sent me to the gas station and asked ?so what you gonna leave me?? Assuming that she was trying to ask for collateral, I left my book bag and searched for an ATM.
