We found this hotel great for our family of 5 8/9/2011

We found this hotel great for our family of 5: 2 adults and 3 kids under 6. The kids loved the murphy bed in the themed room and the small kitchenette was just right for a couple of days. The pool was a hit, especially the smaller kiddie pool. more

relaxing room 8/4/2011

Only 5 hours from Detroit MI, a large flee market on the way south(southern Ohio off I-75)to walk around in warmth during winter, then it's off to hospitality and relaxation in the Tropical Dome while it's cold out. Rooms are very clean, modern, spacious, and resonably priced. more

We'll be back! 8/2/2011

We'll be back! Good rates, Poolside room great. Staff attentive. The Inn even had discounts for the Newport Aquarium and BB Riverboat rides. more

WE LOVED IT 8/2/2011

My husband and I wanted to take a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of our lives so we choose to rent one of the themed rooms from the wildwood. We loved it, I can't think of one bad thing to say, it was like a second honeymoon. The room we stayed in was beautiful we had our privacy and when you want to do nothing but spend the weekend with the one you love with no distractions from the outside world this place is perfect. For those with no sense of humor or adventure then you might not want to try to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere that this hotel offers. Once again WE LOVED IT. more

Highly recommended! 7/21/2011

This was a nice place to stay. The staff were all very nice and accomodating. There policy is if you're not happy, then we're not happy. The pool and arcade were great for the kids. They had a blast. The room was a little worn, but they were remodeling some of the rooms as we stayed there. We stayed poolside and did book a smoking room, however it did not smell of smoke and was VERY clean. I called the front desk to request more pillows and they were at the door in less than 10 minutes. Highly recommended! more

This place really is a hidden gem 7/19/2011

It was our 10 year reunion and we live in the area, but had never been to the Wildwoood. None of our friends had either. After reading the mixed reviews, we decided to tour it first earlier in the week. We looked at almost every theme room and were really blown away by the designs. They were all very well done, clean, didn't smell (especially the non smoking ones) and you could tell they spent a lot of money on building these rooms. We then stayed in the Aztec room. Absolutely no complaints. This place really is a hidden gem. I would encourage anyone looking for a unique get away to at least go up and tour it. Now, we didn't look at any of the regular rooms or eat breakfast, so I can't comment there. But I can say, the theme rooms are excellant and the staff was friendly to us. We'll go back soon and take the kids this time. more

FREAKIN' AWESOME! 7/18/2011

We stayed in the Happy Days Suite and had a FANTASTIC time, Best Hotel room I've ever been in. The bed was a 1959 Cadillac and was super cool, the only problem we had with it was that the mattress wasn't very comfortable and the bed wasn't long enough, but then again, I am 6' 5" and how often do you get to sleep in a 59' Cadillac. Other than that the room was clean and all of the nostalgia in the room and on the wall were very cool. We also loved the fact that there were a Ladies Bathroom and a Gentleman's Bathroom that connected in the middle with the Shower. The back wall was very cool too with it looking like you were outside at the Drive-In and the ceiling was painted black with little stars all over the place. The Jacuzzi Tub was plenty big enough for the both of us, only problem with it was it took forever to fill up because of low water pressure and the drain plug had a slow leak, but it was very clean and well maintained. Overall, this place was FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!! We will definately be going back in the future. more

Great Fun! 7/15/2011

It was totally clean and nice. I had a non-smoking Safari Hut. Bed was comfy. Flat screen TV. Big and Private. Park outside the door. When you walk in the door, the room just makes you giggle. It's wasn't in perfect condition. The air conditioner, jacuzzi, dimmer switches had minds of their own- but worked. The property could use a little TLC here and there but was well maintained over all. I imagine maintaining this place to be a real chore. Bring your sense of humor. Don't expect the Waldorf Astoria. Great Fun! more

the most fasinating trip 7/14/2011

This was the most fasinating trip we have ever been on. The People that worked there were the most polite and wonderful people. They made our stay unforgettable. I would reccommend if anyone has a little free time to go and stay at least one night. You will be amazed and you will not want to leave. When you do, you will be back!!! more

Beautiful decor , clean and spacious 7/13/2011

Stayed in victorian suite with my daughters and it was great ..Beautiful decor , clean and spacious...I had my own upstair TV and murphy bed which was surprisingly comfortable..Word of warning however, better be a close family or couple because the bathtub which has jets in it is right out in the open..There is a shower if you dont want to take a bath..Loved the whole experience.. Loved Nan the housekeeper..Got a 20 per cent discount at the german festiful from Joy and Irene..All and all I would go back to see the other theme rooms as it was a very good experience.. more

very helpful 7/11/2011

My family and I were planning a trip to Cincinnati to attend Kings Island. Last minute booking had me selecting a location that was too far away for our trip. My selection was Wildwood Inn based on feedback from some of our peers. Unfortunately although my wife and I had discussed several hotels it wasn't until she arrived home late that we discovered I had selected one that we had discussed prior to discovering the location would make it difficualt day trips to Kings Island. I called my travel company and they were not very helpful about cancelling the arrangement without the one nights stay charge since it was last minute and would be outside the 24 hour window. I then called the hotel (mind you this was at 1:00 in the morning) and spoke with a pleasant and helpful desk clerk named David. David unfortunately could not help me but gave me the name of the hotel manager (Chris Shively). I actually spoke with Mr.Shively at 10:00A.M that morning and he not only cleared the penalty charge but he called my travel agent and made sure the charges were reversed. Although my wife and I were unable to stay at Mr.Shively's hotel based on the hospitality he and his staff have shown us without even meeting us we will be planning a trip either for our anniversary or just to take out children. I have read the reviews and see a mixed bag of results. Being in the service industry myself I know that opinions vary and sometimes it is hard to shake a bad representation based on a few results. I encourage Chris and his staff to continue giving this same kind of service. Hopefully we'll see them soon. more

A Romantic relaxing weekend 7/6/2011

My boyfriend and I stayed here this weekend and we really found it to be a nice relaxing stay. We loved the creativty we found in our room, Treehouse. We viewed four other rooms during our stay and they were wonderful: clean, nice space, alot of hard work went into each and every room with lots of creativity. We found the service to b...e excellent. People were respectful and friendly. We have four children and plan another visit soon with the kids. The Tropical Dome although a little crowded was nice. More for family guests, however we enjoyed our time in the Tropical dome. A Romantic relaxing weekend is what we were looking for and that is what we got. Thanks Wildwood Inn for letting us experience your creativty. more

loved this place 6/22/2011

love love love love love loved this place!!!! i came here in February of 2004 with my boyfriend (who is now my hubby) for his birthday. We stayed in their Arizona Cave theme room. How fun! the suite looked like a "cave" inside. there was a fireplace and a hot tub and a big comfy bed. When we first walked in it reminded me of the Flinstones ... weird, maybe? fun? hell yeah!!!!! the room was very clean. the hotel was quiet. we never really heard any of our "neighbors". Even though they were doing some construction while we were there it wasn't a problem. we had absolutely no trouble with any part of our stay. and it was so much fun! i mean -- where else can you sleep in a cave but not have to bring a sleeping bag or worry about bears?!?! more

Loved the bed--super comfortable 6/20/2011

We tried several theme rooms. Loved the bed--super comfortable. The room was clearly well furnished. I am in the design business so I was quite impressed with the detail and artistic aspects. The room was equipped with a modern mini-fridge. It also had a microwave and a gigantic shower/bathroom. The rooms are very nice, very classy and was very impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. They made us feel very welcome and was always more than willing to help us with anything we needed or had questions about. The cleanliness of the theme rooms were very impressive. However, when you see other areas of the hotel you realize they need updating and also needs deep cleaning. However, putting that aside, the money we paid was well worth the memories and enjoyment we got from staying at the Wildwood Inn. I adore the housekeeping staff, they were helpful in helping us find the perfect rooms for our anniversary. They spent an hour with us while we poked around trying to figure out which rooms we were going to choose. The desk staff also printed out directions and gave us information on nice places for dinner in the area. We had a great time and owe appreciation to the staff and owners of the hotel. We will be recommending this hotel to all of our friends and family. I have read the other reviews that are negative and honestly can't believe some of them. I will be a repeat customer because of the service I received at the Wildwood Inn. Regardless of some of the small issues the hotel may have, the customer service and the rooms we rented made it a definite choice for all future stays for holidays and special occasions. The location of the hotel is quite central, very close to downtown Cincinnati and Newport, KY. Many area attractions and away from awful traffic. They are easy to locate. They are near many places to shop and is located in a safe area. The owners have clearly put their souls into this hotel so that we could imagine life as we didn’t know it in Florence Kentucky. Lodging includes a continent more

the experience was very fun 6/16/2011

Yes the experience was very fun. I really liked the pool area, the hot tub was fun and no kids allowed which was pretty nice. I would recommend it to others and have. It was worth the money. I had a great anniversary, mainly of course because I was with my honey but also because it was an experience outside of the norm. Will bring my children here too. more
