When you're looking to do something different on the weekend, something a little more laid-back, but with a group of friends, you might want to check out Diversey Rock 'n' Bowl.
It's not necessarily cheap, but it's what you can expect to pay for bowling these days. The differentiating factor about this alley is that their up-to-date good music! And beer is decently priced, you can get pitchers of bud, miller, and better beers also(I think they have Boddingtons at least).
The lanes are really smooth, which is good if you take bowling seriously, and there is a good selection of balls, plenty of lanes.. They have one pool table and it's a dollar per game, pretty sweet...
Still my favorite place to go bowling.
