Review content:
The Austin Zoo is a hidden treasure on the outskirts of the Austin/Oak Hill area. They are a rescue zoo, and have a large variety of animals that I never dreamed I could see in Austin. My son loved that you could get so close to the animals, and that they were in a more natural setting than most zoos. They have a train that goes around the zoo, but call before you go to see if it runs that day. Also, bring a picnic lunch to eat under the shady trees.
