The Lexington Arts and Cultural Council (LACC) promotes high quality arts experiences for the benefit of all people in Central Kentucky. Founded in 1972, the LACC consists of 60 diverse organizations, which provide a variety of arts and cultural activities that reach over 860,000 people in central and eastern Kentucky. In addition to advocating for and promoting the arts, LACC conducts a yearly united fund drive that, since 1985, has raised over $13 million dollars for the arts. Through its Community Arts Development Grant program, the LACC seeks specifically to provide underserved community members with enriching arts and cultural experiences. These outreach grants for one-time or pilot projects are available to arts organizations, artists and non-arts community not-for-profits on an alternate year basis.
