Doug Joppien has worked on BMWs his entire career and is an absolute expert. More than once I called him with a problem and he could instantly tell me the cause. Once was when I was working out of town and had taken my 735 to the local BMW dealer TWICE, and spent a lot of money, without a fix. Doug knew what the problem was over the phone and described a workaround which kept the car going until I could get it in to him.
Doug is honest. He never tried to generate more business than necessary (unlike some dealers), and gave me fair appraisals of what needed to be done vs what could be put off.
I no longer live in Salt Lake, and really miss having a mechanic I can trust and rely on.
