Businiess name:  Mountaineer Family Restaurant
Review by:  Donna P.
Review content:
A few months ago I reviewed the Mountaineer Family Restaurant http://www.wtap.com/restaurants/restaurants/40751html and gave it a good review in response to a review that made it sound as though it were a place of interest to go and watch "the hillbillies" dine. The Mountaineer Family Restaurant is indeed a colorful place and does have a unique flavor. What I must note, however, is that they serve up real food, in real portions, and the cook and wait staff are real people. Some of the gadgets they have at the checkout are rather touristy and funny, but people buy them and you can find them in just about any state around. I stopped in a few evenings ago and went to the "smoking room" (the only restaurant in the area that I am certain of that has provided one) to have my meal. The waitress was delighful, the food hot and plentiful, and the coffee kept on filling itself up. My only regret is that I didn't save room for one of their apple dumplings - they are the best around.
