Businiess name:  Aubrey Rose Tea Room
Review by:  Natalie G.
Review content:
I visited the AubreyRose Tea Room today, and I was pleasantly surprised. Like most people nowadays, I had never been "to tea" before. I was not sure what to expect, and frankly, I envisioned a stuffy, musky smelling old house, with the downstairs converted into a 'tea room', full of stuffy old women. To my surprise, it was in one of the 'shops' on La Mesa Blvd, home of the famous La Mesa Octoberfest. The atmosphere was wonderful, the setup inside is like shopping mixed with with tables set up here and there for tea parties. Youe not lined up table after table next to people you don't know. We had a table that seated 6, by the window, gorgeously setup when we arrived, goblets of water already there with the cutest little doileys covering the tops (so nothing would float into the glasses before we arrived). Too cute. Beautiful tea cups and plates, etc. We had the the Hot Cinnamon Spice tea and it was really tasty. I'm a coffee drinker, not really a tea drinker, but with a cube of sugar and a little milk, it was yummy. Trays were brought out full of finger sandwiches (cream cheese & cucumber, egg salad with decorative chives), different pastry type things, not sure what they were all called, but they were all delicous, some fresh fruit, and scrumptious desserts. None of us had eaten lunch and we all left with full stomachs. A perfect light lunch, and the tables are nicely spread throughout the store, so you really feel comfortable with your group. They have boas and hats you can wear, the little girls seemed to love that. Waitresses and owner were extremely helpful, well spoken, well mannered and just plain friendly. I will definitely be going again sometime, and taking my daughter. A++++ for this little business. It's something different to do, and it just felt like such a pleasant experience. Not sure how it all works, but we had reservations. You may want to call ahead. Give this company your business so they'll be around for years to come.
