Countryside on Route 430 offers a large assortment of take out products as well as the usual assortment of essentials and extras that make this a country store. But for take out, this little place offers some spectacular sandwiches that cant be beat.
Hot heros! Not something I was familiar with, and when someone recommended this place for a hot hero, I was, of course, not sure. All my life, heros were cold sandwiches. But when they ordered some and brought them over, I was hooked!
Countryside offeres oven baked subs or heros to go in two sizes 12 inch or I believe 16 inch. Ive never been able to finish the 16 inch, so I dont order that too often, unless I want to split it with a friend. The sandwiches are meals! They offer a variety of sandwich combinations. My favorite: the Italian sub! My husband loves the all meat selection. Both sandwiches come with a generous portion of deli meats, and the Italian features an Italian deli mix of meat, melted cheese, Italian dressing and spicy banana peppers. The All Meat is chock full of a variety of sliced deli meats and tomato sauce and melted cheese. And the prices are extremely reasonable for the portions and product!
I would also take a friends recommendation that the pizza is very good as well, though Ive not had it personally. All these items can be called in and ordered ahead of time to be picked up when ready. Ive found the usual waiting time is about 20-25 minutes.
The store also offers the usual items that make this a drive though and store: soda, beer, snacks, milk, assorted essentials as well as alcoholic beverages.
A neat little take out place located just outside Mansfield in a very convenient location. And the most excellent sub/hero sandwich you will find!
