I've been to Rose's twice, and I'm never going back.
This is a store for serious collectors, and they have a pretty much unbeatable selection with a lot of rare gems at standard NYC prices (read: overpriced, but what can you do, it's NYC). That being said, the proprietors have to be the most unpleasant record store owners I've ever encountered--and given that record store owners are often arrogant, antisocial, or both, that says a lot!
My first visit went well. I found three records I'd been looking for at reasonable prices. On my second visit, however, I was basically kicked out of the store by Rose and her husband, probably because I don't "look" like I have enough money to shop there (I'm a struggling musician who spends way too much on records)!
If you feel like finding a great record and buying it from a couple assholes, this is your place!
