to eat here at least once! Whether you choose to sit downstairs in the hustling and bustling dining room with all the local "in" people or enjoy the beautiful and calm upstairs rooms, the food will blow you away. This is Creole cooking at its finest, without the unnecessary frills, but with all the wonderful attention to detail. No, it is not cheap and you can easily spend $100/person without truly trying too hard, but let me assure you it is worth every penny and then some. They definitely use only the finest and freshest ingredients (their lump crab meat is golf ball sized) and they do not skimp on them either. Treat yourself to some sides as well, even the simplest ones are prepared with such incredible attention to detail. The dessert list is short, but sweet. For a change of pace try the Cup Custard, which is exactly what the name would suggest - a simple cup of a simple vanilla custard. Let it surprise you! And if this is not enough, finish the meal with a famous Cafe Brulot - coffee steeped with orange peel, cloves, lemon peel, brandy and Orange Curacao. The wine list is impressive and the cocktails prepared at the bar (located upstairs) are memorable as well.
