Review content:
I could almost justify spending what I'd spend to see a Broadway musical when Civic was housed at the Art Museum. But now they reside at Marian College, which is a great house, but do they really charge as much rent as the IMA?
Civic is known for doing the same few musicals each year (Joseph, JC Superstar, Wizard of Oz) for families, and adding a few suprises in the mix, usually contemporary comedies.
The talent that works there are top notch, and I've not seen a bad show there yet, but I find the price a bit steep when I can see some even more thought provoking stuff elsewhere for less.
