Businiess name:  Junior League of the City of N Y Inc
Review by:  Racheline M.
Review content:
As a charitable organization, The Junior League is great, and nothing in this post should cast aspersions on its work. However, this New York branch is filed with aspiring society ladies, who insisted that I should be interested in "arsy" issues because I was "eccentric" as opposed to work ing on something like domestic violence issues. You must go through interviews and be sponsored to be admitted in the organization -- honestly, couldn't you just do charity work on your own? That said, they have a gorgeous townhouse that members can rent for special events at a relatively low rate, so I think some peopel join just to have their wedding there. Membership also gives you access to the private members room. It's a world of old New York, money isn't allowed to be used on the premises; one signs account books and pays later. They do good work, and I do love the aspects of old New York is preserved, but it does so in such a petty way, it's just not for me.
