Olmecas Mexican Restaurant

Review content:
Olmeca's - a quaint little Mexican restaurant is everything you would not expect from a shopping mall Tex-Mex joint.
To begin with, the decoration, I'm assuming, was from a former Asian-inspired spot that didn't quite work in the SE area of Austin. Thus, this little Mexican restaurant has a flat screen on one wall, chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling and a huge decorated mushroom standing as a table when you first walk in.
But, the decoration will quickly be forgotten once you are served. Whether you go for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you'll be pleasantly surprised by their mexican and tex-mex dishes. They have the usual fare of enchiladas, fajitas and nachos. All very good on their own. But one of my favorites here is the carne asada and the barbacoa tacos that you can order any time of the day. They also have excellent lunch specials
