St Patty's Day weekend... just wanted to get away from Tampa for the weekend, be pampered, relax, be a tourist if you will. Checked into the Royal Pacific Property at Universal Studios Fla. What an average resort for the money we spent. Check-in service was lack luster and mediocre AT BEST! The room itself was great! SPACIOUS, LUXURIOUS, RELAXING! But that was the best thing this property had going for it. We had been assured at check in that the on site gym club was included in our room rate, only to be assessed a fee by the attendant when we got to the gym to work out. Spoke to the Asst Mgr on Duty regarding the issue, and was left feeling as if her "gracious waiving" of daily gym surcharge was doing me some grand favor. Gym was adequate for what it was. Honestly, the only thing that saves this property and makes it memorable is the tropical lush landscaping - which in Florida is really how much of a stretch? The water taxi's to the resort properties were few and far in between. One could assume that "the Company" in order to save a shekel or two - has downsized the fleet to the absolute bear minimum and is hoping for the best. Its unfortunate that of all the great things I'd heard of this property - it is the only one I would not return to again!
