Until last night, I would never have believed that I would ever give a salon 5 stars. I'm picky, my hair can be difficult, and I've either had ok experiences or really good ones that left my wallet feeling way too light. Thank you, Mark On Madison and Mark for proving me wrong! But, while those things are nice, they really wouldn't make me give a 5 star review. The haircut itself and the person who did it are the 2 main factors. Actually, I shouldn't say hair cut - that's insulting. It's a hair STYLE. And a good one at that. The layers, the way it falls, everything. And, it passed the test of still looking good when it puffed up from all the rain and humidity this morning. Then there's Mark. I don't know about you, but I love chatting with the person who cuts my hair and getting to know them, letting them get to know me, because I want to like the person who cuts my hair. I hate it when the conversation is like pulling teeth and uncomfortable. But - on the other end of the spectrum, there is such a thing as too much conversation. Mark was the best balance - friendly, sweet and listens to your hair concerns. I can't wait to go back.
