I was referred to Dr. Carlino by my surgeon after finding out I was going to need to have a bilateral mastectomy due to breast cancer. Needless to say my reason for going to a plastic surgeon was different from a lot of people because I was going out of necessity not because I just wanted to ""look"" better. I was scared, nervous, sick and I had a lot of hard decisions to make. From the first phone call of setting up my first appt. I was treated with the utmost care. I was greeted at the office in a kind, professional manner. Dr. Carlino spent 2 hours with my husband and me explaining in great detail every option available to us while allowing plenty of room for questions, tears and just ""needing a minute to absorb the information"". He told me that being diagnosed with breast cancer was indeed scary and he assured me he would be right there to take care of me thru the whole process. He has treated me and my husband with dignity and kindness while demonstrating his expertise in the surgery he has performed and the care he has provided at this point of my journey. I am now cancer free and we are preparing my body for my final surgery. My recovery and continuing care has been outstanding by both Dr. Carlino and his staff. He has alleviated so much of my fear and continues to show me that there is life after breast cancer. I urge you to take to heart the reviews on this websites that are written by actual patients of Dr. Carlino's - not just hear-say and evasive inuendos by persons that have done nothing more than try to tarnish a man's life work by planting seeds of doubt to others who may truly need him and his staff, in what I would consider a cowardice, tacky manner. Dr. Carlino is a kind, caring, professional physician and I would recommend him to anyone. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I encourage you to call Dr. Carlino to make a personal, informed decision, rather than cheating yourself of receiving the benefit of his expertise.
