Family Education & Resource Center Lakeshore CAP Inc. 540 N. 8th St. Manitowoc WI 920-682-1742 I'm in Manitowoc several times a month visiting family and am ALWAYS trying to find some place to take my toddler. WHERE ARE ALL THE MOMS???? Mom groups, play groups - Where are YOU????? Well, now I found the Family Education & Resource Center and am THRILLED! They are located across the street from the Rahr West Museum in a darling residential home setting. It is a resource center that offers many activities and programs to the locals (and those just visiting.) On the day of our visit, about 9 moms and their precious children came to play at the playgroup. The facility isn't large - but accommodating and there are plenty of toys to keep the little ones busy. Moms got a chance to talk and there was even a guest speaker the day of my visit. The newsletter mentions a TON of activities that are in the works. They also have an extensive bulletin board with everything from baby items for sale to baby sitters looking to watch your child. On my next trip to Manitowoc, I will be making a call to find out what the planned activities are for the week (children's play groups, Mom's Nite Out, Parenting classes - whatever!) I'm there! Definitely, Manitowoc's best kept secret!
