Review content:
I am not happy. I brought my 14-yr old friend in to get put to sleep, after he was beset by tumors and could no longer eat. The doctor had to give him a shot "to calm him down." He was in the back of my SUV and very calm already. This is a dog who never yelped at a vaccine. The calming shot hurt him so badly that he howled in pain, then collapsed like a bear from a tranquilizer dart, with his tongue out and his eyes staring blankly. Only then could she start the IV of phenobarb that sent him on his way.\r

I've seen this done before by other vets, and this is not the way it has to be. I am disgusted with NAVH and my own lack of preparation and questions that could have prevented this from being such a painful experience for my dog.
