Review content:
This review is long but I feel the words are necesary so please bear with me. I have been renting a beautiful home in S. Hill for 4+ years now and it happens that my Property MGMT company uses Lakewood Appliance. I've had repairs to my dishwasher once, my fridge twice, and a new dryer installed all by Lkwood App repair men. With each repair I experienced a problem with the repair man but I shook it off, however; today was the worse and I couldn’t ignore it. My fridge went out today; all was melted in the freezer and I lost the contents of my fridge. At 10:30 am I called my Property MGMT Company to request a trouble call, they then placed a call to Lkwood App., then Lkwood App. called me to confirm the repair appt. I was told at that time that a repairman was on the way and would be at my house within an hour, it was 11:30am. By 3pm no one showed up so I called Lkwood App. again. I was now told that the repairman dropped my repair because I didn’t answer when he called my home to verify that I would be home. How many times do I need to verify I’m home? This is one of the problems we’ve had every time we have had to get a repair we end up playing this crazy phone tag with them that never works out. We tell them that were home all day but it doesn’t matter. The repairman just dropped the order for my trouble call. He didn’t have to follow up with anyone to let them know this, not the property mgmt or Lkwood App. Weird, huh, but that’s how they do things. When he finally did show up at 3:45 he told me I was lucky he even came out today after I missed his call and he even asked me if my fridge was 'really out'. The arrogance of that repairman was shocking. He was rude and when I called him on it he shook his head at me, smirked, and told me to call my property management about it and turned his back on me and walked out of my house while I was still trying to talk to him about the repair to the fridge and why it broke. I received similar experiences from each time they sent out a repairman. I did report them to my property management. I also called twice to try to speak to the owner, Ron at Lakewood App. After he didn’t return my call I called back and I was told by the receptionist that Ron said he would not speak to me. He didn’t care what I had to say and told me to call my Property MGMT instead. I said it’s not about placing a trouble call but about how a repairman acted in my home. I was told by them to call my property management even if it was about an issue with one of his repairmen, he didn't want to hear it. My impression of Lakewood App is that they really don't care at all and that they only care about the all mighty dollar. They’ve been in business too long to act this way esp. with so many people out of work now and the jobs people do have are not as secure as they should be. I’m not allowed to act this way in my job. They act like they don’t have to care. To be treated with such blatant disrespect by someone coming into your home to do a job that they are getting paid to do is appalling and arrogant. The repairman didn’t even try to hide his arrogance and bad attitude, he wore it proudly. I will never have Lakewood App. out to repair anything again. I will pay for myself and send the bill to Property Mgmt first.
