Review content:
My husband and I went to Del Frisco's last night for the first time since it opened in Houston. We've been fans of the Dallas location for years and were delighted to discover the fine food and excellent service we love in Dallas is now conveniently located in the Galleria. Parking was a breeze (8:00-ish Sat night), our reservation was for 8:30, but we arrived early to enjoy an extra dirty Grey Goose martini before dinner... it was well mixed, perfectly chilled (nothing worse that a warm martini!) and served with three plump olives.\r \r When we were shown our table, our server, Audey, matched his pace of order taking and serving to our clearly unhurried state of mind. My husband and I ordered the crab cake and a lettuce wedge with Del Frisco's homemade blue cheese dressing to start. Audey divided the lettuce wedge into two plates for us (one was plenty to share) with crisp, cool lettuce coated in a creamy, tangy blue cheese dressing. A dusting of black pepper at the table was all it needed. The real treat, though, was the crab cake. The cake itself was seasoned crab, served hot, with no breading or fillers. It was plated with a spicy sauce, providing a warm contrast to the sweet crab. The sauce was so good we found ourselves using pieces of their tender white bread to soak up the last bits from the plate.\r \r For the entree, I ordered the Governor's Filet (6oz filet w/ a side of Chateau Potatoes) and my husband choose the 12 oz filet and a side of Asparagus. It was the perfect amount of food... the potatoes were rich, but not cloying, the asparagus was al dente w/ toasted almonds, and the steaks were perfect. Yes, perfect. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, w/ a sublime crust on the outside while tender and pink inside. \r \r Kudos also to the fine staff... the hosts at the door, the bar tenders, and especially Audey...we found the staff friendly, comfortable, and accommodating. We enjoyed a very pleasant dining experience and will be back soon.
