One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.\r
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.\r
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.\r
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,\r
other times there were one set of footprints.\r

This bothered me because I noticed\r
that during the low periods of my life,\r
when I was suffering from\r
anguish, sorrow or defeat,\r
I could see only one set of footprints.\r

So I said to the Lord,\r
