Review content:
After injuring my lumbar (lower back), and years of pain due to ""knots"" in the muscles of my romboids (shoulder blades), I finally found EXACTLY what I needed. I have been through several types of chiropractic care (Ghonstead in college for 8 months, Chiropractic BioPhysics in post military service medical treatment, Applied Kiniseology during the military and again before discovering the gem that is Maxwell Medical) and physical therapy, but never at the same location. After visiting several physical therapy, message therapy, and chiropractic locations, the conclusion to rehabilitate with Maxwell Medical WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE. Their front office is organized, efficient, and on top of their business. The reception is warm, welcoming, courteous, personal, and professional. They always confirm your appointment and always schedule around THE PATIENT'S availability. However most importantly, they are punctual. The Massage therapy is so important to rehabilitation I would not be at the range of mobility or strength I am today if not for these professionals. Make no mistake about it: this is NOT a cushy-mushy massage. This is THERAPY. The therapists are there to strengthen your weaknesses (I've seen mostly shoulders, and lower back issues). All those ""ow! my army hurt when I lift it past 90 degrees"" or the ""My lower back is killing me!"" are a lot more serious than people think and the therapists not only educate you on whats going on inside your body, but also describe the procedures and specific area they are working on in your body.. After several sessions of therapy, I was able to gradually work in ""the gym"" a small but very useful and resourceful room to strengthen weaknesses via small, but VERY important exercises that are prescribed by Chris. This is a great opportunity to strengthen the core of your body as well as to improve the pain for which you seek treatment, and further improve range of motion with excercises The chiropractic care here is top-line. I personally go to the 40th street location by Bryant Park, although they have another location in the 50's as well. Dr. Ron Nathanson knowledge of not only the back, but of the entire body and it's inter-connectivity is unsurpassed by any chiropractor I have ever heard of from friends, or experienced first hand. He is professional, personable, and flexible. After several weeks of chiropractic care I requested he change the method of which he works on my back, and he was able to do so without so much as a flinch. All this work is done under the care of several medical doctors (Doctors of Osteopathy?) who track the improvements in periodical reviews of my (and probably every) patient file. I can personally recommend: Dr.'s: Dr. Unson, Dr. Gimplevich (sp), Therapsists who are STRONG for deep tissue manipulation: Caeser, Yingah, Joey, and Chris, Chiropractor: Dr. Ron Nathanson I took the time to write this long review b/c I truly believe in their work. I not only eat more slow-food (natural stuff that is healthy vs. fast food), have a stronger core, am taking the appropriate amount of vitamins, have a larger range of motion, but most importantly -- I have been able to walk normally without pain again and resume an active lifestyle of snowboarding, kayaking, surfing, hiking, biking, swimming, etc. Pros: The therapy, the care, Professionalism, RESULTS!!! Cons: 52nd street location has more space,
