Businiess name:  LAVA Bistro and Bar
Review by:  Laura W.
Review content:
Lava Bistro is formerly known as Providence Bistro. Another restaurant in Charlotte in Ballantyne had a similar name, and confusion with reservations caused this restaurant to change their name. However, it is the same place and a wonderful choice for dinner or lunch dining. I’ve been there 3 times and never been disappointed. The food is moderately-to-expensively priced, but two people could get away at about $40 with no alcohol, just a two meals and perhaps a split dessert. Their desserts are fabulous, so do not skip them! The post-dinner espresso is also made to perfection, excellent job there. A favorite is the shrimp and grit cakes…. May not sound that great, but trust me it’s rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth. Their wine list is pretty good, although our first request was not in stock. Try this place out, the outdoor dining is quite good, too. They also have a 2nd floor for dining indoors, that’s pretty neat too. You shouldn’t be disappointed with this choice.
