Good Things - Nothing Damaged, the movers didnt slack and worked hard, and earned the generous tip I gave them.\r \r Not So good things - I was never given a fixed estimate that I thought I would get after reading some of the posts online. The quote was highest amongst all the movers I spoke to, and I spoke to all the usual suspects after reading online reviews. I was promised 3 movers and only 2 showed up ( the 2nd one was half an hour late). The rate was dropped from 145/hr to 110/hr ( not enough when one considers who much faster the move will be with 3 people instead of 2). The team worked hard and fast but spent some time looking for tools ( which i had to provide even after mentioning the need for tools) and even more so in figuring out how to disassemble and assemble couple of futons ( I expected more professionalism from a mover who has these kinds of rates). The total move was expected to be finished in 5 hours ( with 3 people) and took 8.5 hrs. Of course it included a drive time of 2.25 hrs from forest hills to jersey city ( which I finished during the same time in 1 hr - of course it was by a car instead of a truck). So all in all, I had to spend at least three and a half hrs and 200 bucks more than estimated by the movers themselves. The movers also agreed that the total stuff was an average one bed room and not more than expected. Overall after spending so much money and time, I didnt feel i got a good deal - hence the rating and a decision to never hire them again.\r \r People I spoke to - Tom for initial quote, Nick - on the day of the move Pros: Hard working team Cons: expensive and didnt deliver on promises
