Review content:
I was very disappointed when I arrived in Austin to find that my car was not ready and it took a while for the clerk to figure out what to do. Many things were promised during the transaction: I was told that I needed insurance even though I already had insurance, I was told that the toll road cost in Austin would be given to me (and made to believe that this would be at no extra charge). When I returned the car, all kinds of extra charges were added to my bill (which was very different from the quote received online. The clerk gave me a receipt and a phone number to call to dispute the charges. \r \r I was able to talk to a customer service rep, by phone (Christopher) who took off the ""flat tire"" charge (whatever that is) and he told me he owed me a $50.00 refund since I had been overcharged for the cost of the car. \r \r Now, I am back home and have a $51.80 charge as a separate entity on my credit card bill. I have called multiple times to the Dollar Rental location in Austin. And, have been placed on hold for over 20 minutes!!!! I have been unable to talk to anyone about this situation. \r \r I know that I would never recommend Dollar Rental. And, I am unhappy about the type of customer service that I received. As Christopher told me over the phone on April 11, 2011 ""Dollar Rental is in the business of making money."" It looks like that is true; they do not appear to be in the business of customer service.
