I used to watch the news on WXII in the mornings and in the afternoons, but stopped because they run far too many commercials. I realize that the station makes its money by running advertising, but there seems to be more commercials than news. They've also been running this ""Girl Talk"" part of the show which is a waste of time. Clearly they struggle to find topics that would be even remotely interesting. They've also been running a weight loss challenge between two teams on the morning news. It's one big commercial for the YMCA. I'm guessing the ""challenge"" was dreamed up by their advertising team and the participants were basically roped into participating. All in all - the channel is more about commercials than news.
