In the 3 years we've lived here and worked out at spectrum bandera point, they have raised their rates at least twice. For two people to be members and childcare is now running about $150 a month, which is so outrageous that my husband quit and i quit and rejoined after pregnancy. It is now $90 a month for me to be a member ( including childcare). They also charge you if you put your membership on hold for a month, say for being out of town. If you are military you have to speak up so they void this part for you. They raised the rates when they changed their name to Spectrum from raquetball and added hand lotions in bathroom. The only change we noticed! Anytime you go to work out much equipment is out of order, they don't seem to check equipment often or care enough to fix it in a timely manner. The manager who signed me up also was cheesy and salesy. The people who work in childcare seem attentive though, however...the baby bouncers are always dirty looking like they never wipe them off. I plan to join the new gold's gym opening at bandera very soon. Pros: large open space and sunlight Cons: broken equipment, high rates
