Wow. After all the hype and press the Chef Peacock gets, I really thought the food would be better than this. I have been three times and I won't be going back. The only reason I went the third time is to have ""the best fried chicken in town"" because they are usually sold out. Don't get me wrong, this isn't the worst food in the world, but as a chef myself, I expected much more. I once had a pork chop there that was so overcooked, it was embarrassing. I've heard that they don't pay the line cooks very much and maybe that's the problem. Service was decent, but I could see how much better the service was to the regulars and I felt kind of slighted. The prices are okay, but for the quality, a little too high in my opinion. Southern food, whether traditional or with a twist, should represent fresh ingredients. I didn't get that out of my visits. You would think this guy was a Southern god the way people give him so much praise and press, I just don't get it. Pros: decent fried chicken Cons: below average Southern food
