BEWARE retired / active military who chose to use their Tricare benefits - DON'T go to Dr. Becker! She is not a Tricare provider, thus requests you to sign a waiver stating she is not a Tricare provider, plus the waiver stipulates that YOU will NOT file a claim against Tricare for services provided by her whether it is a Primary or Secondary insurance claim. Her office staff stated that because of nasty complications with several past secondary claims filed with Tricare, they (Tricare) advised her to have her patients sign this waiver. I have been a patient of Dr. Becker's for approx. 5 years & refused to sign the waiver the 1st visit - she treated me anyway; 2nd visit I refused to sign the waiver - she treated me anyway, then today she refused to treat me because I would not sign the waiver. I called Tricare & they've never heard of such - if you have a primary insurance, ie. Blue Cross Blue Shield, you have the right to file Tricare as a secondary insurance even though the physician is not a Tricare provider. Dr. Becker is not the only dermatologist in the Austin area - I refuse to waive the right to use a benefit that my husband served 20 years in the military to earn!
