Businiess name:  The Mane Event Salon

Review content:
I have to say that I was greatly disappointed with this salon. When you walk in the front door, there are a lot of things that catch your attention...there are candles, home decor, make-up, jewelry, etc. all for sale. The layout of the salon is modern and stylish, but the lighting is poor. The conversation among stylists is inappropriate and makes the customer feel uncomfortable, but not as uncomfortable as you begin to feel during your cut, color and style. Giving specific instructions as to how you would like your hair to be cut is unneccessary, the stylist does as she pleases, possibly because she is unsure how to do otherwise.?. The color was mediocre. It wasn't a difficult color, virtually the same as my natural color, no gray to cover. I don't use store brand color because it seems to make my roots lighter while the rest stays dark...Guess what?? That's exactly what happened with the color I left with from the Mane Event, I just didn't notice until I was out in better lighting. At the end of my service, my hair was blown dry using a round brush full of someone else's hair, yuk! The overall cut was just very choppy with uneven layers and a non-blended look. The color was the same that I would have done to myself with a $10 box of dye from the drugstore...uneven!! All this for over a $100 at regular price!! If I hadn't had a coupon, I would have been EXTREMELY distraught. I am just glad I learned a valuable lesson and I still have some hair to work with and can go somewhere else. I feel like I got a "Quik Cuts" quality for a salon price. It wasn't even worth the discount price, but you just can't tell a salon by it's cover. You have to bite the bullet, try it, then live and learn in this case. I guess it could have been the specific stylist on that day, or maybe if you have the coupon that they advertise with they give you a less experienced stylist, I really don't know. If that is the case, not a good way to build your client base.
