Review content:
This Subway has been open in the Shell station across the street from UC for about four years now. In that time, it seems to have steadily decreased in quality, much more drastically so in the past 4 to 5 months. Granted, a fluctuation in service quality is to be expected in an establishment with a relatively high turnover rate. However, the current staff seems to be little more than a motley crew of disaffected college-age youths who aren't really sure why they're bothering to hold a job in the first place. On more than one occasion I have had to request that they remake my sandwich because, regardless of the fact that I stood a mere 20 inches away, directing the entire procedure step-by-step, they managed to completely botch the meal. The ingredients are also sub-par: wilted spinach; dry, chewy onions, congealed tuna salad, and bread that is so hard it is not even possible to cut the sandwich in half (or maybe that step is just too complicated for the Future Leader of America wielding the slicer). At any rate, if you are in the Clifton area and get a craving for a $5 Footlong, this humble Cliftonite recommends bypassing this location entirely. Drive or ride 5 minutes down McMillan Ave to the location in Walnut Hills just past Peeble's Corner, where your food will be made to order with a smile.
