Despite being a chef, I do not get too harsh with any restaurant unless they really warrant it. XO Prime really warrants a harsh review. Back in Sept, I made reservations for Nov 14 quiet intimate table for 2. Nice to know that their idea of intimate dining was to seat us beside a birthday celebration of 10, even though there were plenty of other tables available. I didn?t want to risk embarrassing my boyfriend by insisting on another table but I should have as our waiter was very slow, and was exceptionally un-attentive to us. I guess he couldn't handle his only other table (the party of 10). I ordered a glass of wine & my boyfriend ordered water. It took 15 minutes to bring them, then later, when I ordered my 2nd glass of wine, it literally took 45 minutes. \r \r The foie gras I had ordered was a complete disappointment. Anthony Bourdain would choke their goose if they served their measily 3 pieces to him, as 3 flattened grape tomatoes were bigger than the pieces of foie gras, and the scallops they sat on, was overcooked. I had the halibut which was also overcooked & my date had the ?special? which was surf & turf. Funny, but the menu stated it was $27 for the steak plus $20 to add a lobster tail?but we learned upon receiving the bill that the ?special? was priced at $79 even though both the steak (& type) and lobster was the same ounces as the menu listed. The steak seemed to be select, not prime. What was up with that? For $153 tab (1 app, 2 entrees, 2 sides, 2 glasses of wine) not including tip, I expected far more and with better service. \r \r Fine dining requires a nice ambiance, with great menu selections, a high quality of proper proportions of food, not to mention, and exceptional service is a must?they miserably failed in all departments. Maybe they should get a visit by Chef Gordon Ramsay? I just know we won't go back, unless I see that Ramsay turns it completely around on Kitchen Nightmares! For fine dining at its best, I would say Dante instead.\r Pros: we know not to come back Cons: the whole experience sucked. No parking provided either.
