Toadflax has a charming atmosphere and friendly customer service. I've been there twice to pick of Kiehl's products, of which they carry a good but not complete range. They also stock malin+goetz and are happy to provide samples of new products. At one point, while considering purchasing the Kiehl's shaving cream, I asked a sales lady her opinion and she offered it honestly: look elsewhere. I appreciated the honesty: not every line produces equally good products appropriate for every skin type.
