Review content:
We have a 10 yr and 4 yr old, both boys. We had been going to a Children's Courtyard for years and it was good but not close to our residential location. When my wife decided to go back to work, we began a new search and found Stepping Stone XVI not far away. A few of our neighbors attend there and we began our investigation. It did not take long before we both became enthralled by the innovativeness of their environment. Me, being the husband, assumed that this place probably came with a lucrative price tag. Boy was I wrong! Not only had we befriended the staff at our previous Children's Courtyard school and our 4 yr old's best friend was still attending there, making the decision difficult was becoming less and less difficult. OK, so it was time to dive deeper. What type of curriculum did this Stepping Stone use and how knowledgable and friendly were the staff? It had taken months if not years for us to become good friends with all of the staff at Courtyard and the Director was offering us some pretty sweet deals to return. I knew that both of the boys would have no problem making new friends and adjusting to the changes, much less enjoying the thrill of seeing neighborhood and school friends at the same location. Both schools offer above average settings and materials...but to me, it was change. Change from the ordinary and possibly even fear of the unknown. Of course my wife was more concerned for the welfare of the children and their emotional status, but again, me being the husband, what was the cost going to be? What were the little catches that were possibly not mentioned during the interviews? Were we going to just be another name and number? Was the staff going to take the time out for us for any little thing, even if I wanted to know what was on the agenda for the day, i.e. lunch? You betcha! This place has got it all AND I'm saving our family money! It is new, creative, innovative, friendly, peaceful and safe! See for yourself. Pros: Extreme Value; Ambience; Knowledgable, Friendly AND Happy Staff Cons: Close a little early than others and all-day out kids need to bring their own meals.
