I was first acquainted with Meyer Park Elementary when my grand daughter enrolled as Kindergarten Student in 2005.
She was an exceptional student. Her younger brother, however, had challenges. He was autistic. His Mother found this out after having him held back in second grade. I pushed her to request a referral for completion of a psychoeducational test battery. This is how we learned of the autism diagnosis. To date, he is on grade level using the individual educational plan developed during his ARD meeting. This school reminds me of the elementary school I attended in
the mid 50's in HISD, when education was a ""happening"".
