Businiess name:  Bike Couriers Bike Shop

Review content:
Bottom line --> If you need a specific problem addressed that requires listening to the customer and having experience to fix, especially without elitist attitude, I recommend that you find a different shop. Took one of my mountain bikes in (Frankfort Ave. location) for a basic clean-up and tune. Even though the drive train was pretty new I had not ridden this bike in a couple of years and just wanted it cleaned up, new cables/housings, etc. Upon receiving the bike it wasn't shifting right and they had neglected to notice that the air pressure in the rear shock was low. No problem, took it back and a guy was really helpful in trying to tweak it all out. After a few more rides it was still skipping off the freewheel in the lower gears (not as a result of late shifts, crossing little chain-ring to big gears, etc.). This exceeds my ability/interest in tuning bikes so I took it back yet again on a Friday. The guy was fairly nice, said he'd try to get to it over the weekend, and would call when it was done. I stopped by after work on Tuesday and another mechanic had worked on it and his first comment to me was ""there is nothing wrong with your bike."" Whew, ok, after explaining the problem he worked on it a bit more, rode around the lot, and came back again saying ""I can't find anything wrong with it."" Cool, I understand how tough it is to see problems in the shop but then he started to explain to me how much he rode and talk more and more about him. Not really what I came in for but whatever. Finally, I got a chance to point out that I needed help finding the problem because the bike was not working correctly and was basically un-rideable. That is when the guy said, ""I don't need your attitude."" I was dumbfounded and got pretty pissed (in fact went off, but I'll never go there again) at the guy who just started telling me how he was going to ""blast past me on the trail when he saw me."" As if his competency as a rider has anything to do with a.) anything I’m interested in or b.) trying to get my bike fixed!!! Anyhow, now I am out $45 for a tune I should have just done myself. I guess that is what I get for trying to support a local, grassroots business that seems to care more about posing and attitude then actually repairing a bike. If I need to be sprayed at by a smart ass mechanic there are plenty of on-line forums for that. Cons: Do not seem to be able to address tricky mechanical problems
