There are good apartments and there are bad ones. The Pompeii Americana Apartment in North Torrance is among the worst. This apartment is pet friendly, which means there are random dog poops and poop stains everywhere in the common areas when owners don?t pick up after their pets. This apartment has a pool and during the summer it gets very noisy. During the day the high school kids and the dogs share the pool. At night the college kids party late into the night. Noise level can be unbearable. The apartment is extremely old and obviously has a roach and rats infestation problem. Outside by the garbage bin you?ll find rat traps everywhere. Inside your unit you?ll run into roaches a lot. I killed two the first day I moved in! Being an old apartment, things break easily and they conveniently make the tenants pay for erroneous charges when they move out. I was charged for a new stainless steel sink and painting, even when I left them spotless. Funny thing is, they tell you not to clean the wall because if you rub them the whole sheet come off due to the cheap paint they use.
One other thing - the manager apparently cannot add. My contract gave me one month free rent with a six months lease. After six months she said I will get the free month after another month. When I showed her the math she just repeated herself, apparently never bother to think. Good luck with this place. It was the worst eight months I had ever endured.
