Review content:
This combination Indian grocery/cafe has humble decor, but everything else about it is top-notch. I was there for dinner recently, although they also have a buffet lunch. The food, most importantly, tasted fresh and delicious. They do not serve alcohol, but allowed us to BYOB (there is a convenience store selling alcohol in the same plaza as Mela). Parking was free and easy. Our server was attentive and friendly, but also gave us our space. The chef gave us free dessert! I will definitely go back!!! It is a great asset to the Somerville/Charlestown/East Cambridge area.
Pros: Food, service, parking.
Cons: Decor.
