If you are researching Katy area junior high schools, beware. I would NEVER recommend WMHJ. My son is a seventh grader at WMJH. We have endured almost two years now of disrespectful kids and less than repsonsive administrators. The teachers tolerate bad behavior and the respectful kids who are there to learn pay the price in inadequate attention and time lost to focusing on the kids who put all of their efforts into distracting the teachers from teaching. I have observed the classes on many occasions. My son comes home frustrated every day because the teachers don't discipline effectively and when he (or we) go to the administrators they try to placate us but never actually make any positive changes. The only person there who really tries to make a difference is counselor Mr. Hodo. He is wonderful, but he can only do so much. We are trying to move our son to a school where the kids don't dress and act like they're in the hood and where they are respectful of the teachers and their fellow students. We've had enough of bullies and thugs. That's not what we moved to Katy for. Pros: Great counselor, Mr. Hodo Cons: Poor teachers, lack of appropriate discipline, disrespectful students who don't care
