My husband and I decided to try this place out for Valentines day and unfortunately we had not read all these terrible reviews I'm reading now. The place is a huge draw for the teenagers in Astoria because of the loud music and hookah which is fine though not what we were looking for. We decided to go with the vibe and try to enjoy our food. The lamb tagine and couscous got rave ratings in the few reviews I did read. I have to agree with previous reviews on this site, the meat was fine, except for the fact it was not lamb but beef, the food was flavorless and the plate was mostly filled with canned peas and potatoes, the couscous was the same, no flavor! The tagine according to the menu is supposed to come with rice, and when we questioned the waiter and chef they both denied that it should even though the menu cearly says so. The ""Moroccan"" bread that came with our meal was actually italian bread. Unfortunately, we had already ordered a hookah and the Moroccan tea before we discovered the terrible food, however, these two items were actually good, so we stayed and finished up and our bill still came out to 25 dollars with a 4 dollar gratuity they added themselves. Luckily there is a great Afghani place across the street and we were able to salvage our Valentines day dinner. Overall, this place was a complete and utter disappointment food wise, but if you're a teen and you like hookah check it out. Pros: morrocan tea, hookah Cons: really uncomfortable seating, terrible food
