WOW - this place is a one-of-a-kind institution for Los Angeles. Complete with all the food, atmosphere, and service you would expect from the classic Jewish delis in New York City. I went with three friends and we all, not unwisely, ordered the number 19 - pastrami on rye with coleslaw and russian dressing. SO good. Heaping portions of cured pastrami exploding with flavor on soft, warm rye bread topped with crisp coleslaw in creamy, yummy dressing. Our waitress, a 50 something old-timer named Joan, took care of us in that Jewish mother sort of way. Sort of grumpy and cynical - but lovable and comical just the same. If you can, save room for dessert, but remember they aren't open past three and are closed most holidays. Park in a nearby lot and validate, the somewhat seedy area does no justice to the culinary oasis of Langers deli. Pros: Huge, delicious sandwiches in a classic deli setting Cons: None to be found!
