My experience was very unpleasent. This guy not only refused to return my books while in a fee dispute but he broke the law by holding my books and records hostage until he was paid. Which was the issue. I signed a contract for services that said he would not charge more then 1400 per month, then one month I got a bill for 9,500 dollars, which when I reviewed the statement there had been several charges for reviewing and double reviewing of accounting notations, it was ridiculous. The guy is a hack. He claimed to be successfull in the restaurant business which is why he's a cpa for restaurants, which is funny - guys who are successfull in the restaurant buiness don't leave the restaurant business to go practice accounting. Further, once the State Board of Accountancy got involved their investigator said that Zlotnick had been investigated several times for this same reason, months went by and no result from the State Board, only to find out they lost their investigator and who knows when they could find a new one. So once again this guy seems to be able to practice with impunity. My suggest to stay far far away from David Zlotnick.
Pros: He has the book of Morman on his reading table.
Cons: File Churning, Lying, Decietfull business ethic.
